Boy! She's quick!

Often I find myself trying to intervene or referee an argument between the two eldest children of the house. More often I find myself attempting new tactics trying to help them to see that both of them are in the wrong and that both of them have a reason to feel hurt as well as both of them needing to apologize.

While trying a new angle 1 day before Makade's birthday, I decided to work in some roll play and have each of them pretend to be the other to help them see why they had behaved in such a way to hurt their sibling. They were up for it and to my surprise Makade seemed overly enthusiastic, "Ha! That means I get to be the oldest of the family now!"
Tarryn, stunned long enough to blink retorted with, "Oh yeah, That means I get to have a birthday tomorrow."
